Collection Nationale de Cultures de Microorganismes (CNCM)

The CNCM is a collection of microorganisms, cell cultures and viruses, all deposited for purposes requiring a strictly defined secrecy provision. The CNCM has the status of International Depositary Authority under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure.

The CNCM secures the deposit of microorganisms according to agreements which resulted from the national and international need of a controlled preservation under a strict secrecy provision. Today most of the microorganisms are deposited with the CNCM under the Budapest Treaty.
