On the occasion of the official visit of the President of the French Republic, Christian Bréchot, President of the Institut Pasteur went to the Macenta treatment centre on the 29th of November, where he was able to visit the diagnostic laboratory newly installed by the Institut Pasteur. The first volunteers has arrived.

A l’occasion de la visite du Président de la République en Guinée, Christian Bréchot, directeur général de l’Institut Pasteur, s’est rendu samedi 29 novembre au centre de traitement de Macenta, où il a pu visiter le laboratoire de diagnostic installé par l’Institut Pasteur. Les premiers volontaires sont arrivés sur place fin novembre 2014.

Le Président français François Hollande s'est rendu le 28/11 en Guinée. Il était accompagné du Directeur de l'Institut Pasteur, Pr Christian Bréchot.

Guidé par la Directrice générale du CHU de Donka, le Président a visité le laboratoire de cette structure qui fonctionne avec le concours de l'Institut Pasteur de Dakar et participé à la table ronde "La riposte contre le virus Ebola".

Le Pr Christian Bréchot, directeur général de l’Institut Pasteur, se rendra en Guinée vendredi 28 novembre 2014, aux côtés du Président de la République française, François Hollande. Deux accords de coopération prévoyant la création d’un Institut Pasteur à Conakry fin 2016 seront signés, entre l’Institut Pasteur et le gouvernement guinéen d’une part, l’Agence française de développement (AFD) d’autre part. Le samedi 29 novembre, le Pr. Bréchot visitera le centre de traitement de Macenta où l’Institut Pasteur installe un laboratoire de diagnostic.

The Total Foundation Total and the Institut Pasteur has launched today a new call for proposal open until the 25th of next January as part of their long-lasting partnership. The induction of neutralizing antibodies by a prophylactic Chikungunya vaccine candidate has now been confirmed by the final results of a phase 1 clinical trial, as well as its tolerability and safety. Detailed information of the trial has been presented at two international conferences. The vaccine candidate was developed under a R&D collaboration between Themis Bioscience GmbH and the Institut Pasteur (Paris) based upon a measles vaccine vector technology.

L’innocuité ainsi que l’induction d’anticorps neutralisants contre le virus du chikungunya d’un candidat vaccin prophylactique ont pu être confirmés par les résultats de l’étude clinique de phase 1, dont les détails ont été présentés lors de deux congrès internationaux. Le candidat vaccin de Themis Bioscience a été développé en collaboration avec l’Institut Pasteur de Paris sur la base d’une plateforme utilisant le vaccin contre la rougeole en tant que vecteur (Themaxyn®).
