L’Institut Pasteur et IntegraGen annoncent aujourd’hui la signature d’un accord de partenariat  faisant de la société le principal opérateur des activités de séquençage à haut débit des Centres nationaux de référence (CNR) et des collections microbiologiques de l’Institut Pasteur. L’ambition pour ces structures est de pouvoir s’appuyer, dans le cadre de leur mission de santé publique, sur le séquençage à haut débit comme outil de référence en matière d’analyse, de surveillance et de diagnostic.

Following the death of three newborns at Chambéry hospital (France) in December 2013, scientists at the Institut Pasteur quickly drew connections to a previously unknown bacterium responsible for the contamination of parenteral nutrition bags. Today, these scientists are publishing an article to announce the official recognition and complete characterization of this bacterium, which belongs to an entirely new genus. In homage to Emile Roux, a close collaborator of Louis Pasteur and head of the Institut Pasteur from 1904 to 1933, the bacterium was named Rouxiella chamberiensis.

Little is understood about the molecular mechanisms that actually enable the HIV to integrate its genetic material into certain regions of the human genome. The scientists were able to find this link and determine the role played by the chromatin environment and nuclear pores in the replication of HIV-1.

Les chercheurs de l'Institut Pasteur ont déterminé le rôle de l’environnement chromatinien et des pores nucléaires dans la réplication du VIH-1.

For 10 years, Total and its corporate foundation working alongside the Institut Pasteur and its International Network in the fight against infectious diseases. A new sponsorship agreement, of EUR 6 million for three years, was signed on 26 January 2015. It will provide funding, for public health and research projects in resource limited countries in order to better understand the therapeutic and vaccine responses in children.

Moderna Therapeutics, a pioneer in the development of messenger RNA (mRNA) Therapeutics™ and the Institut Pasteur, today announced a long-term strategic research collaboration for the discovery and development of drugs and vaccines using Moderna’s mRNA Therapeutics™ platform. Valera, a Moderna venture company, will manage the research collaboration for Moderna.

Phase 1 trial of the vaccine candidate which was developed under an R&D collaboration between Themis Bioscience GmbH and the Institut Pasteur (Paris) shows good immunogenicity, safety and tolerability.
