In anticipation of the annual G7 summit on June 7-8, 2015, the Institut Pasteur joined an initiative supported by 90 global health actors advocating for an acceleration of the fight against neglected tropical diseases, which should contribute to reduce the level of extreme poverty in developing countries.

Cyril Schiever, président de MSD France et président du conseil d’administration de MSDAVENIR, et Christian Bréchot, directeur général de l’Institut Pasteur, ont signé ensemble deux conventions de mécénat, lors de la cérémonie de lancement du fonds de soutien MSDAVENIR. Ferring Pharmaceuticals a research-driven, specialty biopharmaceutical group and the Institut Pasteur, a non-profit international biomedical research center in Paris (France) today announced a collaboration aimed at identifying and developing bacteriophages to treat patients suffering from inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Organisée par l'Institut Pasteur et Le Monde, la 4^ème édition des Assises de la Philanthropie a été, une fois encore, un succès. Près de 550 professionnels de la générosité et de la gestion de patrimoine se sont réunis mardi 31 mars 2015 au Centre de Conférences de l’Institut Pasteur, à Paris, pour découvrir les freins et perspectives d'un secteur qui se renouvelle sans cesse.

Après le décès de trois nourrissons à l’hôpital de Chambéry en décembre 2013, les chercheurs de l’Institut Pasteur avaient rapidement établi l’implication d’une bactérie jusqu’alors inconnue, responsable de la contamination de poches de nutrition parentérales. Les scientifiques publient aujourd’hui l’article instituant la reconnaissance officielle et la caractérisation complète de cette bactérie, appartenant à un nouveau genre. Celle-ci a été baptisée Rouxiella chamberiensis, en hommage à Emile Roux.
