Des chercheurs de l’Institut Pasteur, du CNRS, de l’Institut Curie et de l’Inserm, ont mis en évidence un mécanisme qui permet à la bactérie Legionella pneumophila (agent principal de la légionellose) de « reprogrammer » l’expression des gènes des cellules qu’elle infecte. Ce mécanisme, jamais observé auparavant, facilite la survie et la prolifération de Legionella pneumophila pendant l’infection.
