On October 12, was held the second edition of the welcome day specially dedicated to first-year PhD students of Institut Pasteur.
Led by the Teaching Department, this meeting has brought together over 50 new PhD students out of the 74 who arrived at Institute since the beginning of the 2018-2019 academic year to do their PhD.
During the afternoon, participants were able to attend several presentations focusing, specially, on the Pasteur Institute's academic and social commitment to PhD students. They were also able to exchange with some of the PhD students present at the very first 2017 edition and invited on October 12 to share their experience on Institut Pasteur campus. An important axis for networking!
Two academic and non-academic career paths were presented by T. Gregor, head of the Physics of Biological Functions Unit, and Camille Albane, head of the Institut Pasteur FabLab (FLIP).
The day ended with a cocktail which was an opportunity for the students to also weave important links among them within this new student’s community of Institut Pasteur.
An appointment now anchored in the calendar of the heads of the Doct-Office, within the teaching department, meeting the objectives: to offer doctoral students support from their start in PhD at the Institut, orient them to the different IP resources and participate in their training throughout their thesis course.
