Description
This OMI-Pasteur course provides theoretical training in medical entomology. The understanding of host-vector and vector-pathogen interactions and vector control will be addressed. Students will gain specialized skills covering all aspects of major vector-borne diseases.
Medical entomology is a key discipline for many past and present researchers at the Institut Pasteur; in this line, this course deliberately combines tradition and modernity.
Lectures will be given during morning sessions by internationally recognized experts in their field of research. They will be focused on the ecology and biology of insect vectors, and the control of their natural populations.
Students are invited to actively participate in discussions with speakers during conferences and roundtables. The course offers them an unique opportunity to better understand research and medical aspects of Medical Entomology. We really welcome students with the following profiles : fully trained Clinicians or residents in their last phase of training (3rd/ 4th year) and Biologists and Microbiologists (PhD students) working in the related fields.
This OMI-Pasteur course is organized as part of the OMI Medical Seminars.
