Digital Education at the Institut Pasteur

Several times a year, Institut Pasteur offers a new Education Webinar, focusing on a major issue or current topic in life sciences or public health.

For one hour, an Institut Pasteur scientist presents the latest advances and key issues related to a specific topic, followed by 30 minutes of live questions and answers with participants.

Held in French and simultaneously subtitled in 35 languages using artificial intelligence, the webinars are accessible to scientific audiences as well as anyone wishing to better understand today’s major scientific challenges.

Recordings are also available for replay, allowing viewers to watch the lectures at any time.

18 MOOCs focus on infectious diseases. They cover viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi, as well as immunology, cross-pathogen approaches, and the methods and technologies used to study infectious diseases.

Three other MOOCs complete the catalog with topics beyond the field of infectious diseases, including epigenetics, human population genetics and evolution, and advances in stem cell biology.

The MOOCs are aimed at learners with prior knowledge in life sciences, ideally equivalent to a second-year undergraduate level (L2) in life sciences.

Available free of charge on the FUN platform, the MOOCs can be completed independently and at your own pace. They can also be used as educational resources as part of university or professional training programs, for example alongside in-person teaching with the Pasteur Courses.

The Institut Pasteur Digital Diploma in Infectious Diseases (DNM2IP) is a diploma program based on Institut Pasteur MOOCs. It enables learners to deepen their knowledge of key topics related to infectious diseases.

To earn the diploma, learners must successfully complete 5 of the 18 MOOCs that make up the program. The diploma enables learners to deepen their knowledge while providing formal recognition of the skills acquired throughout the courses.

Since its creation in 2019, the diploma has attracted more than 3,300 enrolled learners as of 2026, and has already been awarded to more than 200 people.
