Description
Master 2 students from partner Universities (Sorbonne University, University of Paris Cité and Paris-Saclay University) MUST NOT register online and must submit their registration request DIRECTLY to contacts in charge of their university course. These students have free access to the course.
All other students must register online and pay their registration fees.
The theoretical courses address issues of expression, organization, and stability of eukaryotic genomes. Genetic and epigenetic mechanisms and their influences on cell development and chromosomal stability will be described. Emphasis will be placed on the analysis of oncogenic somatic rearrangements. We will discuss how human genome sequencing can be used to understand genetic diversity in populations and vulnerability to disease.
The practical work will provide an opportunity to develop several experimental approaches.
• Analysis of common fragile sites by cytogenetics and replication fork speed by molecular combing
• Study of chromosome stability in Candida albicans yeast
• Analysis of the cell cycle and spontaneous mutagenesis during growth and quiescence
• Study by chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by quantitative PCR of a histone demethylase
• Analysis of genetic profiles combining rare and frequent variants in the case of autism

Candidates must have a good knowledge of genetics at the Master's level or the end of the first year of the Master's degree. Applications are evaluated by the Course Committee.
