Description
Master 2 students from partner Universities (Sorbonne University and University of Paris Cité) MUST NOT register online and must submit their registration request DIRECTLY to contacts in charge of their university course. These students have free access to the course.
All other students must register online and pay their registration fees.
The first week consists in an alternation of detailed theoretical bases and hands-on-computer training sessions focusing on the concepts and tools used in genetic epidemiology.
Topics include:
- Introductory concepts in human genomics and populations genetics.
- Basic concepts in statistical genetics and genomics.
- Public databases in human genomics (HapMap, 1,000 Genomes).
- Introduction to genetic epidemiology.
- Linkage analyses: principles, methods and hands on computer
- Association studies – from linkage disequilibrium to genome-wide association studies: principles, methods and hands on computer
- Next Generation Sequencing – design and analysis of whole exome sequencing studies: principles, methods and hands on computer
The second week consists in an alternation of detailed theoretical bases and hands-on-computer training sessions focusing on the concepts and tools used in population genomic.
Topics include :
- Principles in population genetics
- Population structure and human demography
- Natural selection and genetic adaptation: research examples, principles, methods and hands on computer
- Genome-wide scans for selection: research examples, principles, methods and hands on computer
- Genetics of gene expression and beyond: research examples, principles, methods and hands on computer
- Keynote lectures
Candidates must have basic knowledge in molecular genetics, statistics and informatics.
The course committee will evaluate applications.
