From the latest advances in vaccinology to global health challenges, discover the new Pasteur Course dedicated to vaccines, antibodies and pandemic preparedness.

A new training course addressing global health challenges

From 14 to 25 June 2027, Institut Pasteur will offer a new intensive training course in Paris dedicated to vaccines, antibodies and pandemic preparedness, at the intersection of scientific advances and global health challenges.

As new infectious disease threats continue to emerge, the development of vaccines and antibodies is a major public health priority. Building on more than 25 years of expertise in vaccinology training, the Institut Pasteur’s Education Department is launching the Pasteur Course Vaccines and Antibodies for Pandemic Preparedness and Global Health.

This new course aligns with the first scientific priority of the Pasteur 2030 strategic plan, which focuses on infectious disease threats. It aims to equip scientists and healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to better anticipate pandemics and address the challenges involved in developing new vaccine and therapeutic strategies.

What makes this course unique?

The course takes an integrated, pathogen-agnostic approach, exploring principles and strategies that can be applied to a range of infectious disease threats. It combines the latest scientific and technological advances with the practical stages involved in vaccine and antibody development.

Key topics include:

  • New vaccine platforms, including mRNA vaccines;
  • Structural vaccinology and AI-assisted antibody discovery;
  • Immunomonitoring and the identification of correlates of protection;
  • Clinical development, manufacturing and regulatory science;
  • Global health applications and challenges, incorporating human, animal and environmental health considerations through the One Health approach.

By bringing these different dimensions together, the course offers a comprehensive overview of vaccine and antibody development, from research to public health applications.

A course led by two scientific experts

The course is co-directed by Emanuele Andreano, Head of the Serology and Immunology Laboratory at Fondazione Biotecnopolo di Siena, and Guillemette Masse-Ranson, immunologist and Deputy Director of the Center for Vaccinology and Immunotherapy (CVI) at Institut Pasteur. Their complementary expertise in vaccinology, immunology and the development of new therapeutic strategies contributes to the scientific depth of the program.

Training for an international scientific audience

Delivered in English over two weeks, the Pasteur Course is intended for scientists, PhD students, physicians, pharmacists, veterinarians and global health professionals seeking to deepen their knowledge of vaccinology and antibody development.

Up to 40 participants will take part in the course at Institut Pasteur’s Education Center in Paris, in an environment that encourages scientific exchange and the sharing of experience.

Scholarship opportunities may also be available to help facilitate access to the course, subject to the eligibility criteria and application procedures specified in the call for applications.

To support learning throughout the course, this Pasteur Course incorporates the expertise of Health Sciences e-Training Foundation (HSeT) in digital learning solutions, notably through a dedicated learning platform providing access to course resources.
