An ecosystem of innovative startups

Published the Updated

Since 1888, the Institut Pasteur has not only generated first-class scientific knowledge, but also turned this into real-world solutions for patients. Drawing on an ecosystem of innovative startups, we translate discoveries into widely accessible therapies.

How the Institut Pasteur sows the seeds of future innovations

By founding its first spin-off (a company set up based on knowledge and technology derived from research) in 1997, the Institut Pasteur established its credentials as a pioneering supporter of biotechnology entrepreneurship. For over 25 years, we have been supporting early-stage companies that develop medical innovations to protect human health.

To date, the Institut Pasteur has helped launch and/or grow more than 37 startups which draw on the technologies and expertise developed by our research teams.

Each of these companies is imbued with some of the Institut Pasteur's excellence and continues, in its own way, to meet major health challenges, whether in the field of cancer research, immunology, infectious diseases or precision medicine.

Startups spun out of our laboratories

These companies, which originated in Institut Pasteur laboratories, are now developing tomorrow's therapies and technologies.
