The Institut Pasteur in Côte d'Ivoire will organize, in coordination with the Department of international Affairs of the Institut Pasteur, the Institut Pasteur International Network Directors council in Abidjan from 20 to 22 September. Nearly 80 people coming from the 33 member institutes of the network will be present at this major gathering for the Pasteurian community which allows each year to take stock of common actions and validate the major axes of development of the network.
The meeting will be accompanied by a scientific symposium open to the public which will address some of the major research orientations in the network: yellow fever control, ecosystem modification and biodiversity, monitoring and response to new emergences. Prof. Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, Honorary President of the Institut Pasteur International Network and 2008 Nobel laureate in Medicine, will give the opening plenary lecture of the symposium.
This is the first time since its creation by Jacques Monod in 1972, that the Directors council takes place in the Ivory Coast capital.
