ZEvent 2026: Thank you for your exceptional support

From September 3 to 6, 2026, ZEvent (a French-language charitable streaming project) brought together millions of people on Twitch around a common goal: supporting causes. The Institut Pasteur is proud to have been among the organizations that benefited from this edition, made possible thanks to the commitment of streamers, donors, and communities.

For three days, streamers’ Twitch channels buzzed with excitement for the 2026 edition. Challenges, discussions, moments of connection, and calls for donations unfolded one after another in an exceptional atmosphere, all in support of vital causes.

Thanks to this collective effort, ZEvent 2026 (page in French) raised €32,891,874, which will be distributed among the beneficiary organizations, including the Institut Pasteur.

For our institute, this effort represents much more than financial support: it demonstrates the public’s trust in scientific research and in those who work every day to better understand, prevent, and combat diseases.

The funds received (page in French) by the Institut Pasteur will help support research on the microbiome and its major role in human health (the IM2P program). This research opens up important avenues for better understanding the links between microorganisms, the immune system, inflammatory diseases, cancers, and mental health.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this event possible:

  • the streamers who participated throughout the event;
  • the donors;
  • the Twitch communities;
  • the organizers of ZEvent;
  • the teams on-site in Montpellier (southern France) and online.

We also extend our warmest thanks to the Fondation de France for its support and its role in assisting the beneficiary organizations and institutions.
