Fungal threat

What if the next health threat came from... fungi?
Sarah Dellière, a researcher at the Institut Pasteur, warns that global warming is selecting fungi that are more heat-tolerant and sometimes resistant to treatment. Notable examples include Candida auris in hospitals and Coccidioides, which is gaining ground in northern regions.
Disasters, humidity, pollution, and antifungal pesticides are accelerating the trend. It's a worrying hypothesis, but the consequences are already visible.
