With an effective management policy and successful response strategy, the Management, Board of Directors and General Meeting board provide the impetus for the Institut Pasteur’s research.

The Management team sets the overall strategy for the Institut Pasteur. The team is supported in its task by the Scientific Council and the Executive Board to ensure achievement of the strategic goals and objectives set.
The Board of Governors makes decisions on Institut Pasteur’s business. Its members meet at least four times a year.
he Scientific Council advises the President of the Institut Pasteur and, if required, the Board of Directors on all issues relating to scientific policy, organization, and research. It is consulted in the case of assessment, creation and closure of research Units, as well as general scientific strategic questions. The Scientific Council meets at least twice every six months.
The General Meeting approves the Board of Directors’ Annual Report on Institut Pasteur activity, elects 16 members to the Board of Directors and votes on changes to the articles of association upon proposal by the Board of Directors.
At its meeting on March 5, 2018, the Board of Governors adopted a revised Charter for the Prevention and Management of Conflicts of Interest.
The scientific integrity and conciliation Committee (CISC in french) is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Institut Pasteur's Scientific Integrity Charter.
