The lectures present questions of organization and expression of eukaryotic genomes, from yeast to humans, as well as the molecular and cellular mechanisms responsible for the integrity of the genome. Emphasis will be placed on the analysis of genetic and epigenetic processes and their influences on the normal and abnormal development of germ and somatic cells.

The practical work presents four experimental themes:

  • The analysis of a fragile site by molecular and cytogenetic combing.
  • Dynamics of genomic rearrangements in Candida albicans
  • ChIP analysis of the presence of chromatin-associated proteins in S. pombe.
  • Human genetics.

    Candidates must have a good knowledge of genetics at the Master's level or the end of the first year of the Master's degree. Applications are evaluated by the Course Committee.
