Combined in silico and in vivo approaches towards the mechanisms of genome organization and evolution

Comparative genomics of Hemiascomycetous yeasts:

Program in collaboration with 5 other french laboratories, Consortium Génolevures, the CNS-Génoscope and the Génopole Pasteur-Ile de France.

Experimental approaches of genome dynamics :

Model organisms : Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Candida glabrata (human pathogen)

Mechanisms of gene creation (program ANR GeneArise)

Molecular mechanism of chromosomal plasticity (recombinaison, replication, DNA double strand break repair)

Nuclear architecture

Founded in 1987, the Yeasts Molecular Genetics Unit presently comprises 16 persons (including 7 staff scientists, 2 engineers, 1 post-doctoral fellow and 4 PhD students). The Unit is part of the Genomes and Genetics Department of the Pasteur Institute.
The Unit is associated with 2doctoral schools, LDV and B2M.
