Its main goals are :
- To contribute to create a system of epidemiological, clinical or biological datas collection and a system for human rabies monitoring, mainly in countries with institutes belonging to the Pasteur Institute network.
- To study epidemiology to animal rabies: studies about the role of domestic and wild non flying carnivores
- To investigate epidemiology and pathology of chiropters and
- To analyze links between viral genetic evolution and adaptation to several animal species hosts in the lyssavirus genus. This project deals with the missions of the RNC and WHOCC for Rabies.
