The authors have carried out a serological survey in the Republic of Senegal. 73 % of the individuals taken at random yielded a positive anti-amaril sero-protection test. This observations shows that the risk of an eventual epidemic similar to these recently observed in Congo and Ethiopia is weak. Sporadic cases may however develop, and prophylactic measures should be maintained.
