A new Arbovirus, Kedougou (Ar D14701) has been isolated at Kedougou, Eastern Senegal, from a pool of Aedes (Aedimorphus) minutus collected on human bait in June 1972. An other strain of this virus has been isolated from the same mosquito specics collected in 1975 at the same period of the year.
Immunologic studies show that the virus is a member of thc genus Flavivirus (Arbovirus group B) different from all the members of the group with which it is compared.
A survey for antibodies in human sera reveals some activity of this virus in the human population studied.
