Milieu : Cantonnement de troupes américaines pendant la seconde guerre mondiale.
ISOLEMENT :
Inoculation sous cutanée sur 4 hommes le 6 Octobre 1943.

Cette souche a été reconnue comme différente de tous les virus auxquels elle a été comparée.
Une comparaison en inhibition d'hémagglutination avec d'autres virus du groupe phlebotomus a été effectuée par R TESH (1975) :
