Prélevement effectué en Juin 1910, probablement sur un porc malade.

Lieu de collecte : Kenya.

ISOLEMENT :

Inoculation parentérale sur porc et sur cultures cellulaires.
Il n'y a pas de souche prototype, les isolements à partir de porcs, de tiques et de phacochères ont été nombreux.

IDENTIFICATION :

Cette souche ne présente aucun lien antigénique avec aucun des virus auxquels elle a été comparée.
Aucun anticorps neutralisant n'est produit par aucune espèce.

MALADIE :

Humaine inconnue.

Animale : Fièvre, anorexie, cyanose de la peau, destruction d'éléments lymphoréticulocitaires, vasculite, hémorragies disséminées, occasionnellement thrombose.

HOTES OU VECTEURS :

Mammifères : Hylochère, Porc, Phacochère, Potamochère.

Tiques : Ornithodoros erraticus, Ornithodoros moubata porcinus.
