ALPHAVIRUS


ORIGINE :

Isolé par RM TAYLOLR et coll., NAMRU III, Le Caire (Egypte), à partir d'un lot de femelles adultes de Culex univittatus, sous la référence Ar 339.

Prélevement effectué le 14 Août 1952.

Lieu de collecte : village de Sindbis, delta du Nil (Egypte), 30° N, 32° E.

Milieu : Plaine cultivée et irriguée en milieu subtropical.

ISOLEMENT :

Inoculation intra cérébrale sous cutanée sur souriceaux nouveau né le 14 Août 1952.

IDENTIFICATION :

Cette souche a été reconnue comme différente de tous les arbovirus du groupe A auxquels elle a été comparée (J CASALS, 1960). Voir également le virus Babanki.

MALADIE :

Humaine : Fièvre, céphalées, prostration, raideur nucale, myalgie, arthralgie, signes hémorragiques, ictère, rash parfois vésiculeux.
