The Genomics platform carries out large-scale projects with several teams of Pasteur Institute as part of the Genopole programme on Microbiology initiated by the French Ministry of Education and Research. Following a third call for proposals issued by the Genopole Institut Pasteur, genomic projects were selected by a steering committee in November 2002. These projects are being carried out following an automation-based protocol providing a high-thoughput low-cost method for the isolation and purification of plasmid template samples for use on capillary-based DNA sequencing devices. The Genomics platform has 5 capillary sequencers (ABI model) and a robotic workstation (Genesis, Tecan).
