Candidates must have good knowledge of Genetics at the Master level.
The main language used in this course is French, but some lectures are in English.

The aim of the course is to introduce students to technical and conceptual aspects of research in modern somatic cell and germ-line Genetics, from yeast to human.
Theoretical courses will address the organisation and expression of the eukaryotic genome as well as the organization and expression of molecular and cellular mechanisms which maintain genome integrity. The focus will be on genetic and epigenetic processes and their influence in normal and pathological development of germ-line and somatic cells.
Practical courses will include: analysis of a chromosomal fragile site by DNA combing and cytogenetic; Deletion of a transcription factor in yeast, microarray analysis of the transcriptome in different growth conditions and phenotypic analysis of corresponding mutants; chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) ; Bioinformatics ;multifactorial Genetics ; human genetics and analysis of CNVs (Copy Number Variations) and SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms).
