Mouse Genetics

Candidates must have a good knowledge of Molecular Biology and Genetics, equivalent to a Master level. This course is also intended for research scientists and PhD students who already have laboratory experience.
This course will be taught in French.

This course provides training in the most topical areas of mouse Genetics. It concentrates on analysis of gene function at all levels: the gene and its product, the cell and cellular interactions, embryonic tissues and the entire animal.
The theoretical part of this course deals, in particular, with genetic analysis of mendelian and complex traits, embryology, gene inactivation and conditional expression systems for transgenes. The practical part teaches students methods and techniques that will allow them to study genetic mapping, mutant/embryonic and adult mice, and to analyze behavioral traits.

The Institut Pasteur Diploma will be awarded to students having successfully completed the final examination,

This course is run in agreement with the Université Pierre et Marie Curie-Paris 6 and Denis Diderot-Paris 7 and a University Diploma may also be granted,

Credits for Masters (second year) from Universités René Descartes-Paris5, Pierre et Marie Curie-Paris 6 and Denis Diderot-Paris 7,  for students registered at this universities (masters).
