This course is aimed at MDs and PhDs and veterinarians wishing to improve practical and theoretical knowledge of medical mycology.
This course will be taught in English.
Training is provided through bench work and demonstrations, lectures, and informal panel discussions. The course will cover:

- Basic knowledge in Mycology including morphological and molecular identifications, typing techniques, antifungal resistance assays...
epidemiology, sexual and asexual reproduction, genome organization, molecular diagnosis and identification, antifungal susceptibility testing, typing methods.
- Common and emerging filamentous fungi and related diseases: species identification, contribution of serology and histopathology, pmathophysiology, epidemiology, role of the labaratory in the diagnosis and monitoring of the patients.
- Common and emerging yeasts and related diseases: species identification, contribution of serology and histopathology, pathophysiology, epidemiology, role of the laboratory in the diagnosis and monitoring of the patients.
- Mucocutaneous mycoses (Candida, Malassezia, dermatophytes).
- Travel and mycoses.

Diplomas:

The Institut Pasteur Diploma will be awarded to students having successfully completed the final examination,

This course is run in agreement with the Université Pierre et Marie Curie-Paris 6 and Paris-Diderot and a University Diploma may also be granted,

12 ECTS for students registered in Master’s training in Public Health - Pasteur/ Cnam of Public Health
