Call for papers

Submissions are closed.

First call for papers

Two types of contributions are offered:
  • extended abstract (6 to 8 pages), in principle corresponding to unpublished work
  • short summary (1 to 2 pages), corresponding to recent work, already published or in progress
Both types of submissions may be selected for an oral presentation or for a poster.

Topics

This year, parallel thematic sessions dedicated to specific topics will be implemented. This will allow more attendees to make oral presentations and contribute to reinforce informal discussions within the community.
All the submissions will be assessed by the program committee.
A parallel session on a precise topic will be held depending on the number of articles concerning the topic we will receive. If you want your topic to be well represented, it is very important to submit broadly your work and incite your colleagues to do so.

The significant increase in the number of oral presentations, and their selection on short or long summary aims to encourage PhD students and post-docs to present their results at JOBIM. Prizes will be awarded to young scientists for the best presentation on poster and for the best oral presentation.

JOBIM covers the whole spectrum of bioinformatics (see home page), from methodological aspects (modeling using mathematics, computer science, statistics, physics) to applications leading to new results in biology.
Developments concerning software tools might be presented in a dedicated session and through demonstrations, according to submissions dealing with that topic (please indicate your interest in this topic in the page "New submission" on the EasyChair server).

Instructions to authors

  • You need to have an EasyChair account to submit your contribution (no need to recreate an account if you already used EasyChair for another conference).
  • Contributions can be written either in French or in English  (English is deeply recommended though). As far as contributions in French are concerned, the title and the abstract will have to be translated in English.
  • Submissions must use presentation templates, available in RTF, LaTeX, MS-Word or OpenOffice formats (PDF files to be produced from these models are provided as well). Authors are requested not to change the presentation setting (margins, font, ...), nor the outline of the text and various items (title, authors, addresses, abstracts, ...).
  • Contributions which do not follow the formating rules will not be considered.
  • Only PDF format is accepted.
  • Supplementary data (e.g., picture or spreadsheet) can be supplied, although one must be able to read and understand the article without any external reference.

In addition to hard-copy proceedings given during the conference, we will publish all the final articles on the website.  If you are opposed to an electronic publication, please specify when you submit (tick  the cognate checkbox "New Submission" page).

A second call for papers is open, for poster abstracts only.

Covered topics are the same as those of the first call for papers (see above).
Contributions will be briefly reviewed by the program committee to reject any off-topic abstract.
