Preparedness of the platform to pandemics or large outbreaks
The platform is involved in the emergency plan developed within the Institut Pasteur in the event of a pandemic of avian influenza for the sequencing of viral genomes.
In close collaboration with the National Reference Center for Virus Influenzae-Northern Region, the platform maintains reagents and protocols necessary for the complete genome sequencing of H5N1 and has trained its staff accordingly.
The platform could also intervene in emergency epidemic of listeriosis, legionnaires’ disease or influenza, through its reactive expertise in pathogen sequencing.
