Theme of the conference
This meeting is the first in a series of workshops to be held in different European countries. These conferences aim to bring together specialists in a range of disciplines in order to discuss new insights into the replication cycle of viruses and their interactions with the host cell machinery.
The 2007 workshop in the Pasteur Institute in the heart of Paris will explore the mechanisms of the early steps in the virus life cycle, with a particular emphasis on how viruses exploit the host cell machinery for their entry process. We will discuss recent advances in virus receptor interactions, membrane fusion, signalling and replication, endocytosis and trafficking and nuclear import.
Several leaders in the field have accepted to speak at this meeting. In addition, oral and poster communications will be selected from among the abstracts submitted by the participants.
