Welcome to the XXVth International Conference on Magnetic Resonance in Biological Systems to be held on August 19-24 2012 at the “Cité Internationale” conference center in Lyon, capital of the Rhône-Alpes region in the East-Central France and a gateway to the Alps and the Mediterranean. Lyon has a long-standing cultural influence in France and the world. The city is known for its historical and architectural landmarks and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lyon was historically known as an important area for the production and weaving of silk and has now developed a reputation as the capital of gastronomy in France.

The ICMRBS conference, held biennially, is widely considered one of the leading meetings in the rapidly growing field of magnetic resonance in biology, covering important new developments and biological applications using high-resolution liquid and solid-state NMR, EPR, in vivo NMR, metabolomics and MRI.

The XXVth ICMRBS conference will gather a broad range of experts from around the world with interests in all aspects of magnetic resonance in biology, offering opportunities to improve communication and cooperation between researchers. The challenge of this major event is to provide an in-depth panoramaof the current state of the art in the field as well as to assess the directions where magnetic resonance could have the greatest impact on addressing biologically important problems.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Lyon.
