Structural Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics

High Resolution Mass Spectrometry meets infectious disease

 

The overarching objective of the Unit of Structural Mass Spectometry and Proteomics headed by Julia Chamot-Rooke is to develop new MS-based methodologies for the analysis of proteins and protein complexes involved in infectious disease.


The Unit is attached to CNRS UMR 3528 headed by M. Delarue.

The Unit focuses particularly on “top-down” approaches, performed on the entire protein. The development of these approaches requires an understanding of the fragmentation mechanisms of peptides or proteins, another theme developed in the group.

Top-down and bottom-up approaches can also be combined to identify and fully characterize proteins involved host-pathogen interactions.
