Research Applications and Industrial Partnerships Department

The mission of the Research Applications and Industrial Partnerships Department is to detect, promote, support, protect and transfer innovations emerging from research efforts by Institut Pasteur scientists (and certain Institut Pasteur International Network institutes). The department is aiming at setting up fruitful cooperations with industrial and institutional partners both in France and internationally for the benefit of patients and public health.

The members of the Research Applications and Industrial Partnerships Department and Institut Pasteur scientists work together to identify and protect inventions and expertise with potential health benefits in order to value them. Relations with the research teams are coordinated by a scientist trained in business development and providing the right interface. The department’s overall efficiency is based on its members’ complementary skills in scientific fields as well as in intellectual property rights, negotiations of health product contracts, new companies set-up and financial management.

The Institut Pasteur invests the revenue from its partnerships, licenses, and material transfer agreements back into research programs thereby contributing to new knowledge generation and to public health.

The Research Applications and Industrial Partnerships Department has been led by Jean Derégnaucourt since July 6, 2010.
