Our governance

With an effective management policy and successful response strategy, the Management, Board of Directors and General Meeting

Board of Governors

Through its proceedings, the Board of Governors settles Institut Pasteur matters. Its 21 members meet at least four times a year and attend the proceedings of the General Meeting but do not take part in voting.

General Meeting

The General Meeting approves the Board of Directors’ Annual Report on Institut Pasteur activity, elects 16 members to the Board of Directors and votes on changes to the articles of association upon proposal by the Board of Directors.

Scientific Council

The Scientific Council advises the President of the Institut Pasteur and, if required, the Board of Directors on all issues relating to scientific policy, organization, and research.

The Institut Pasteur is a research partner organization, member of Université Paris Cité community. The Institut Pasteur’s association with Université Paris Cité is a global partnership for research and education in the field of biology and health, formally established in June 2021.

Our museum

Musée de l'Institut Pasteur

Visit the Pasteur Museum, a place of remembrance that first opened to the public at the Institut Pasteur in 1936. The Museum harbors the memory of the life and work of Louis Pasteur in the spacious apartment he occupied during the final seven years of his life.

Strategic plan - Pasteur 2030

In view of the many risks to human health, such as infectious diseases, antibiotic resistance, aging, climate change, chronic inflammatory diseases, cancers (which increasingly affect young people) and neurodegenerative diseases, Institut Pasteur aims to strengthen its role as the world's leading research organization in understanding and combating these diseases by 2030.

2024 Annual Report

The year 2024 was a decisive milestone for the Institut Pasteur, marking an intensive period of preparation and launch of its Pasteur 2030 strategic plan, which positions “life as the new scientific horizon.”

In the joint interview opening the annual report, Yves Saint-Geours, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Yasmine Belkaid, Director General, look back on 2024, emphasizing that despite an uncertain context and attacks on science worldwide, the Institut Pasteur demonstrated remarkable dynamism with more than 1,000 scientific publications. They stress the importance of defending science in public debate and reaffirming the Institute's historic humanist values.

The central focus of this report is devoted to one of the scientific priorities of the Strategic Plan, “environmental transitions and health.” It highlights how climate change and human activities exacerbate infectious diseases, affect our bodies, and promote microbial resistance. The Institut Pasteur's commitment to limiting the environmental impact of its activities is also outlined.

Finally, in line with the unveiling of the Institut Pasteur's new identity, this “new version” of the annual report incorporates the institution's new identity elements.
