SUPPORT FOR THE INSTITUT PASTEUR-CHINESE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES FROM LVMH/MOET HENNESSY.LOUIS VUITTON

LVMH, the world's premier luxury group, comprising prestige brands such as Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Moët Hennessy, Guerlain, and Givenchy, has decided again to join together with the Institut Pasteur on the creation of the Institut Pasteur of Shanghai-Chinese Academy of Sciences.

This partnership will assume the following forms:

The Institut Pasteur will be linked with events connected with the presentation of the exhibition "Impressionist Treasures" from French national collections in China, in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, in the context of the Year of France in China (October 2004 - spring 2005).
LVMH will make a preliminary gift to the Institut Pasteur of Shanghai when it opens in October 2004, and then will devote an evening in aid of the Institute in December 2004, during the opening of the "Impressionist Treausres" exhibition in Shanghai.
This partnership falls within this period, and in the years to come will accompany the development of the Institut Pasteur of Shanghai-Chinese Academy of Sciences, which will hence be a special partner of LVMH and its brands.

In this way, LVMH wishes to join the fight led by the Institut Pasteur against infectious diseases, a major health challenge of the 21st century, by helping in the training of researchers or with laboratory equipment.
